Legendary Athlete Honoured
Depar Timing gave support to the race held in the name of Şükrü Saban, one of the legendary names of Turkish athletics.
Odunpazarı Municipality, the organiser of the event, brought together Şükrü Saban, who will celebrate his 86th birthday in four days, with the athletes of his time and the young generation. Saban, nine times national champion in 10000 meters between 1960 and 1969 and eight-time winner of the Great Atatürk Run during the same years, gave the start of the races together with Odunpazarı Mayor Kazım Kurt and his fellow athletes.
